Powered by a high thrust EDF and equipped with full steering, a rudder, and functional brakes, this RC vehicle is built for high speed and precision control. Its design makes it perfect for tight turns, fast launches, and smooth, controlled drifts.
The front and rear wheels are easily detachable to allow the vehicle to be transformed into ski mode for traversing snow and ice.
Believe it or not, this project was originally built to be entered in my schools annual pumpkin carving contest. After the contest, the pumpkin was retired and the vehicle was optimized to focus on speed, controllability, and fun.
After hitting a wall at 30 mph and experiencing a rapid unscheduled disassembly, version 2.0 of the jet drifter was born. Built on lessons learned from the original, the new version features fully independent 3 wheel steering, improved brakes, soft tires, and a more robust frame.
